Planning Tips: Planning a New Year’s Party
Celebrating the New Year is a way of saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new with family and friends. This moment has always reminded us to be merry, get out of our day-to-day activities, and decide to let go of everything and simply celebrate! And since your New Year’s Eve is intended to be fun and memorable, you should plan the party to make sure everyone will have a great time.
Here are some tips for you to consider.
Welcome the New Year at home
Going out for NYE can be a bit of a challenge — transportation, large crowds, and other factors, can become an issue. On the other hand, having a simple get-together at home can motivate you to unleash your creativity as you plan your party.
Choose a theme
In your party planning, spice things up and give your family and friends one last chance to play dress-up before the calendar expires. Choose a theme that you think best describes the concluding year, so when you look back at your photos years later, you will remember what was trending in the past period. Be sure to select a theme that is realistic and easy to pull off. Don’t forget to include it in your invitation to set the tone and hype up your guests!
Use a variety of furniture styles
The idea is to use furniture that fits your theme and make your guests as comfortable as possible. Provide enough seats to hold about 50 to 70 % of your guests at any one time since some of them will prefer standing at times. However, they will not enjoy standing for long periods, so be sure to give them something snug to sit on. Also, consider the ages, habits, and preferences of your guests.
If you want a blend of function and appeal, go for a cocktail reception, which includes a combination of high and low seating options. So, try to utilize varying furniture styles and heights to keep things interesting. Some of the items you might want to integrate into your design will include stools, sofa, dry bars, and cafe-style tables and chairs. Having a variety of furniture items will make your New Year’s Eve truly chic and stylish!
Time the event properly
You’d want to keep everyone pumped and excited on New Year’s Eve, not wiped out by 11 p.m. That being said, time your event properly and start the party late enough (9-10 pm should be good). This will give your guests enough time to catch up, grab a few cocktails, and have some fun.
Prepare some entertainment
An NYE party will not be complete without entertainment. In addition to socializing, you can have other activities to keep everyone involved. For example, play games, build a disco wall, decorate your drinks, or simply dance it out. Just keep things interesting while everyone is waiting for the clock to tick at exactly 12 midnight.
