Styled Shoot: Vibrant Tropical Styled Shoot in Punakaiki

Reminiscing about this shoot brings back all the feels! We were super excited to have Polka Dot Bride love this just as much as we did. It's crazy to think that they were one of the first wedding blogs I ever discovered and having the shoot published here was a nice wee tick off the list!

We created a shoot with punchy, bright colours and rich gold accents to compliment the natural and majestic landscape surrounding Punakaiki. From the high cliffs that abruptly thrust skywards to the lush dense rainforest. A truly unique place with several unique land formations such as the pancake rocks, blowholes and towering cliffs of the Paparoa National Park. I grew up on the rugged and wild West Coast, only a 10 minute drive from where we chose to shoot. You know when you watch those family movies and wish your childhood was that adventurous and exciting? That is exactly how I remember mine - summers spent carving out our own path through lush bush and discovering waterfalls and swimming holes, spending all day sunbathing and slipping down natural rock slides. Makes me feel so incredibly lucky! It should be no surprise that this place is special and I've always wanted to create something here.

Pitching that idea to a bunch of creatives in Christchurch and pulling in others from my hometown, was a task in itself. What followed was magic! Everyone did such a great job and we all hope this inspires you to think a little outside of the box. Your own natural landscape can be a major inspiration to your overall look and feel (not just your venue). We hope this inspires you!
